Longer maintenance intervals.
- The new Detroit^® Aftertreatment System does more with less. This new ATS features a single, larger Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) with Asymmetric Cell Technology for increased service intervals and 60-pound weight savings in a smaller housing. The new ATS works hand in hand with the Detroit heavy-duty platform of engines through techniques such as Asymmetric Injection and Auto-Elevate to ensure optimal temperatures, leading to fewer regens. When paired with the Detroit Vocational or On-Highway Series of DT12^® transmissions, the engine can also ThermoCoast, keeping temperatures up during low load driving.
Better combustion for better fuel economy.
- Ultra-high compression ratios combined with a new swirl piston design and a new, 10-pin injector create better combustion, reduce ash production, and improve fuel economy by up to 4.0 percent.

Detroit Connect Virtual Technician

Detroit Connect^®, a suite of proprietary connected vehicle solutions, is designed to improve your bottom line. Detroit Connect provides fleets and owner-operators services and tools to improve uptime, fuel efficiency, safety, and performance. These tools provide you information about your vehicle you can’t get anywhere else to better manage your business operations.

The Detroit Connect Virtual Technician^® remote diagnostic service takes the guesswork out of engine repair. When a truck’s check engine light illuminates, data is collected immediately, providing a technical snapshot of the engine’s status before, during, and after a fault code event.

This information is sent to you and to the Detroit Customer Support Center (CSC), where a trained representative can diagnose the issue, recommend service and even contact the nearest authorized Detroit dealer with parts in stock. The CSC can tell you if you need to pull over so you don’t cause further damage, or if you can stay on the road.
