Detroit Virtual Technician onboard diagnostic system collects data immediately when your check engine light comes on. It generates a technical snapshot of the engine's status before, during and after a fault code event. It then relays the information to the fleet manager or predetermined contact via email or phone and provides:
Fault code and description
(how soon the engine needs service)
Nearest service locations
Contact information for the Customer
Support Center (CSC)
If the problem is a severe "service now" event, a case is automatically opened with the Detroit CSC. A trained representative will diagnose the issue, recommend a service, and contact the nearest authorized locations with the parts in stock. Virtual Technician takes the guesswork out of engine repair, so you can get the wheels turning again as quickly as possible.
Vehicles with EPA 2010 or newer Detroit engines that were purchased without Virtual Technician can equip thier truck by purchasing a retrofit kit and service contract in the aftermarket.
